Day 12; New Information

Today I woke up a little bit on the late side around 9:30AM. I started my day off with doing some sitting and then doing a position for one hour while. I was told to do this position for one hour for a formulae time period and exactness and i will achieve a higher level of understanding of something. I had practiced all day took a walk and did some research on what i categorize as "new hope" and then did some consulling volunteer for for the National Kidney Foundation. After that I put in two hours of volunteer work for the Raw Film and Food Fesival that is going to be held in Ottawa in the fall just making some calls to vendors to see if they are interested in being a part of this opportunity.

After that I received a small lesson at 4:00Pm which I payed close attention to details and then moved on. he told me one thing which was i told him how do you avoid being greedy. He said he gave all that up because greed leads to desires and desires lead to an ego. he said live with what is minimal then when you get something unexpected it will be like a 'wow.'

I think learning thi has been a great experience thus far and I never want to let go of something I want. i am making steps towards possibly setting myself up and residing.

Day 7

Mr. Brooks was out the day teaching his other students. I stayed at home and practiced for three hours in total over the course of the day. I can feel my body getting stronger and strength building up.
I was reading the Yang Family Secret Transmissions it is in a sense Mr. Brooks bloodline of beign passed the skills of tai chi. Most importantly i read that you must practice faithfully for three years to see results. "Ta-chi ch'aun was not created merely to brawl with ruffians. Rather, the Immortal, Chang Sang-Feng, invented this soft martial art as an aid to maintaining good health. Those who are interested in health and self-discipline, eliminating illnesses and lengthening years, whether men of letters, in poor health, as well as old people, the young and the women, all may study. We might say that the key to health and self-discipline lies in following and preserving weakness"

There is no clear studies done with disease and in more concentration on kidney disease that tai chi has the influence of repairing and rejuvenating. I believe it is quite clear that it has some subtle energies to it that are unknown to the people who are not involved but are known to the people practicing faithfully.

Day 6

I woke up around 9AM.

I began to practice immediately. I did sitting for one hour in the sunlight and then proceeded on to practice the foundations I have been taught. Once i finished with my practice about 90 minutes i was invited to go to the store with my teacher. I asked Steve many questions in the car. the most interesting conversation was when he told me he was going to tell me a secret that his teacher told him. He told me that you cannot get something if you do not ask for it. I have asked for certain things and they have been given to me. He told me a story how he needed to go to NYC every weekend to do training and every weekend he needed to find a ride or transportation when he was in "poverty." One of his wifes relatives I believe he said just retired as a conductor on the train. At retirement they are given a golden pass. This pass allows you to travel anywhere in the USA on train for free. Through some sort of energy that pass landed in his hands and he was able to get to NYC with no hassles. Another important not he told me that too many people are on the pursuit of money. Tai Chi teachers are not rich. I asked him if he has ever been on vacation. He said I am always on vacation.

When we got back from the store I ate the best salad ever and some flax seed bread. Then I proceeded onto my lesson.

Lesson

I started of with what I learned prior. Holding the positions as long as I could to strengthen my body. By the end of only 15-20 minutes of that I was sweating and ready to throw in the towel. However, I would never do that as this is only going to help myself I'm doing this for myself and I want to live the best life ever in the best health ever. After that Steve taught me more to the movement. And I did it over and over learning a new step each time. i asked him do i have to start from the beginning each time. he is like yes it only takes you 20s to do it, wait till you finish the movement; The whole movement is apparently twenty minutes long. It was a great training session. By the end of the hour I went upstairs and went to bed . I woke up an hour later and grabbed a glass of water. I then went of for a walk to see the scenery. I walked for about ninety minutes and then went back to the house. It was a great day so far I still have one more hour of practice I am going to do tonight then off to bed.

Day 5: Practice

I did various forms of practice all day and rested.

Day 4: RISD

I woke up around 9AM.
Did some practice while Steve had another student training. I am currently awaiting a ride to go to a symposium with David Wolfe a world renown raw foodist and the owner of SunFood Nutrition.

The Conference was at the Rhode Island School of Design. The name of the conference was on "Cracking the Chocolate Code" It was an amazing conference on the astonishing truth about the world's greatest food cacao. He shared alot of his intuition about nutrition and during the break they had chocolate shakes. I got a shake. The best chocolate shake I have ever had. I mean David Wolfe lives on chocolate and I can see why. If I could make Cacao Shakes like the ones he sold for $10 I would be all over it too. The conference was great I felt very lucky to hear David Wolfe talk as he is a superfood nutritional prophet in his industry. He is a doer a entrepreneur at best. So after the conference Brad Rao a guy I met is Reno, NV at the Peak Performance training who lives at the Tree of Life in Patagonia, AZ happened to be in town for this conference. He let me know that there was a after party being held for David Wolfe up the street. So we kept that it mind and swayed of towards Whole Foods for a bit to eat before we headed to the party.

The party was awesome they had homemade cacao chocolates, cacao chocolate cheesecake, and off course no alcohol is served at raw foodist parties there was fuji water instead. So I capitalized on this party as I believe okay theres David Wolfe here who has the biggest market share on superfoods, raw foods, cacao in the world. So i began to talk to David Wold about the banking industry and the financial world we live in. I told him that okay now there Michael Jordan whos the superstar of basketball, theres a Tiger Woods, and there this guy George Soros who no one really commends who made $1B in a 12hr period in the currency market. It was a wow moment! me and David Wolfe hit it off he starts getting into his up and coming products and shares his vast knowledge on what he wants to do. He explains that currently as he sees it theres you three guys Mohammed, Chris, and Brad who could be the investors in what I speak. he has some great products on his shoulder that could definitely come out and monopolize the nutritional industry as well as the electronic industry (yes seriously!) i was really excited that I not only got an opportunity to talk to David Wolfe but got to be a part of his future. As well with his merchant processing but also his investment options. It was an epic event at whole and therefore was the best night ever!

Got home at around 11:50PM and went to bed.

Day 3

I woke up around 9:00AM with Mr.Brooks popping in to make sure you do not over sleep. i was actually just lying in bed from 7:00AM because my body was aching from all the exercises I've been practicing.

I do my morning cleanup set my bed and then make myself a cacao smoothie whilst sitting in the sun in Mr. Brooks backyard. After that I begin to practice what I've been taught from the past day and i feel improvement and I feel stimulation from the inside. Mr. Brooks tells me I'm going to show you my teachers training grounds. We walk next door and we begin the tour with over three acres of land. There is an outdoor training house open concept, a hammock besides it to gaze at the stars and a path leading around the grounds. Mr. Brooks tells me that now you know why I live right besides my teacher. He also tells me your one of the few people that i have shown this area to. Not even the man who introduced me to Mr. Brooks has been around that area. We get back from the tour and Mr. Brooks then gives me my second lesson.

Lesson

Mr. Brooks says before we get into the movement I am going to teach you how to stand properly. He tells me to make sure that all five toes are level on the ground as well as your heel with proper balance. After i was timed to hold that position for five minutes I moved on to learning the movement. We begin with the first part of the movement. After he teaches me the first part he tells me to practice. I practice and then show him it. Once it was complete he shows me the second part to the movement and tells me to practice. Then once complete he shows me the third part of the movement. Then the fourth part of the movement. After that he stepped out and told me to practice. After practicing i went upstairs to rest and fell asleep for an hour. After Mr.Brooks got back in the late afternoon he showed me the fifth step in the movement. After i practiced that for a bit I was asked to sit down and cross my legs. he explained to me how to cross your legs properly and where to hold your arms to strengthen the kidneys while meditating. He then said to go upstairs and sit in the beam of light through the window with as much skin visible as possible and to mediate. he told me to think about whats going on inside and what created everything inside of me. After a little while of resting, Steve Brooks demonstrated pushing and circles with his son. He then showed me how to do it. A very strenuous exercise indeed.

From 10:20PM to 11:20PM I practiced the movement that Steve taught me in the beginning of the day. Do you ever sweat after soft exercises.

Day 2: My first lesson

I woke up at 6:45am almost exactly when Mr. Brooks walked in the door from his early lessons. He left not too long after we sat at the dining table while I drank some kambucha tea. I went back to bed for four hours. Then I went out and strolled around the streets to check what is close in vicinity. When I got back Mr. Brooks said "are you ready?" Off course.

The Lesson
I learned about the foundation of tai chi. I learned how to stand, and how to work from the inside out. So far after 90min it has been the hardest training i have ever done in my life. And it's only 4:01PM and I am only half way through. Continued on practicing...Now at 9:30PM I am told to practice one of the foundation movements he taught me earlier.

By 10:00PM I was pretty tired from all the lessons, and training. I feel asleep not too long after.

Day 1: The Bus Ride

April 9-10
I head to the bus station at 1:30AM on Thursday to catch my bus from Ottawa to Providence, RI. 9 people accompanied me, however I was the only one going to the United States of America. When i get to my first stop Montreal at 5:00AM I want to get a little breakfast. So I begin on my journey down 4 blocks to Club Sandwich a 24hr breakfast place. Making just a handful of steps i realize for my own safety I must take a taxi. The taxi driver took me to the place he was Haitian and he told me he wished he would have lived in the U.S. On the way back the man talks about himself being a Boston Bruins fans and that he cannot stand Montreal Canadien fans. Now lets fast forward...the bus ride was mostly a sleeping time.
I arrive in Providence at 7PM on Thursday. I await my ride from Chris Gagne who I met at a Harvard University summer class. He comes and we go to Whole Foods Market. There is a fresh salad bar where we both get a salad of our choosing...mmhmm...After Whole Foods we had to Mr. Brooks house where I am going to learn tai chi. when i arrive there he greets me with a traditional handshake. Me and Chris go inside his house and sit down at the Dining table. Mr. Brooks a lean tall man only learns, practices, and teaches tai chi in that order. He had been doing is since he was 4 years of age. Me, Chris, and Mr. Brooks get to talk for a couple hours about anything and everything relating to tai chi.

What I learned from our conversation.
The first thing i learned about is the chi. the chi is the energy and it is stored in the kidneys. He believes that in my case having a third kidney it would mean my Chi is weak and it needs to be strengthened. Next, is that Mr. Brooks tells me about this kidney I received I must accept it to be my own that is the only way you can begin to build the cells and rejuvenate the cells of the kidneys. He tells me he can help me if i'm committed i must practice every day when he shows me to do. i learn that is takes 1000 days of proper practice to begin able to use your chi to its full measure and at least 13 years in order to begin to teach it to others. I learn that I should be in bed by 12am; He says thats when the demons come out. Mr. Brooks was taught by his teach who lives in a house right besides him.
